The Top 10 of CZW – February, 2013
Monday, February 18, 2013 @ 06:20pm EST

Each month, the staff at has been ranking the wrestlers of CZW based on their win-loss record, their place on the card, the crowd reaction they receive, any titles won or lost, and other intangible qualities that made that wrestler stick out from the pack.  Since its inception, this list has proved to be controversial; surely it will be very much the same this month.  Please remember, this list is not the official standings controlled by CZW Management.  Without further a due, this is the Top 10 of CZW for February, 2013!

CHAMPION – MASADA – It doesn’t matter who stands in front of the Ultraviolent Beast…  He is programmed to win wrestling matches.  This month, he took on his “admirer” Christina Von Eerie and made her a bloody mess.  He did this while show ZERO remorse.  One can only imagine what will happen at Wanted on March 9th when Christina Von Eerie, Joe Gacy, and Matt Tremont challenge the International Deathmatch Superstar.

#1 – (1) – AR Fox – First he battled the heavy snow that blanketed the northeast of the country. He practically walked right in the door and into the ring to face off against fellow Best of the Best competitor, Rich Swann.  Despite all the odds stacked against him at the 14th Anniversary, AR Fox once again proved to be nearly superhuman by defeating Mr. Standing 450!

#2 – (3) – Sami Callihan – Callihan returned the Combat Zone much more focused than we last saw at Cage of Death 14.  He made sure to finish the job and make the Panama City Playboy tap out to the Stretch Muffler.  But now Callihan ventures into the unknown on March 9th as Adam Cole gets to pick his poison!

#3 – (2) – Adam Cole – Cole drops down one spot this week after falling short against Sami Callihan.  The problems are only seemingly getting worse for this top prospect too.  At Wanted on March 9th, Cole has to face who ever Callihan chooses.  The worst part is, Cole has made a lot of enemies over the course of his career in CZW and there is sure to be a line waiting to shut Cole up for good!

#4 – (5) – Matt Tremont – The Bulldozer just doesn’t stop…  The man seemingly has check off everything on his bucket list over the course of the last year.  First, defeating DJ Hyde…  Then, winning Cage of Death.  Then, defeating a hardcore icon in Tommy Dreamer.  But the only thing that is missing is that coveted CZW World Heavyweight Championship.  On March 9th, Tremont finally gets his shot to rule the Combat Zone.  Many here at believe that his could be yet another career defining moment at Wanted.

#5 – (9) – Drake Younger – The Golden Boy got back to his winning ways at the 14th Anniversary by defeating 4Loco’s Alex Colon.  However, not all is peachy for Younger.  Amongst the chaos that was the CZW Tag Team Championship Match, it was Younger with a missed chair shot that ended up costing the Nation of Intoxication the championships.

#6 – (5) – Danny Havoc – The Nation of Intoxication are no longer Tag Team Champions and that is truly no fault of their own.  They were seemingly the victims of circumstance at the 14th Anniversary.  Unfortunately, that doesn’t change the fact that they are no longer the recognized CZW Tag Team Champions.

#7 – (6) – Jake Crist – Much like the Nation, OI4K were the victim of circumstance.  This is the second time their Tag Team Championship opportunity was taken away from them, seemingly unjustly.  With the Tag Team Division in a tizzy, who knows when (if ever) OI4K will get another shot at the Tag Team Championship.

#8 – (7) – Dave Crist – See Jake Crist

#9 – (8) – Lucky 13 – See Danny Havoc

#10 – (-) – Shane Hollister – This newcomer has been quick to make a name for himself in the Combat Zone, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.  Hollister qualified for this year’s Best of the Best Tournament at the 14th Anniversary event.  Some believe that because he was forced to qualify, rather than simply invited, he may have started the momentum to bring him right to the trophy.  But, time will tell if that will be the case.  For now, Hollister continues to impress.

Honorable Mention – (-) CZW Bombshells – The 14th Anniversary was the night the Bombshells of the Combat Zone made their mark.  LuFisto made her long awaited return to the Combat Zone, while CZW welcomed the WSU World Champion Jessicka Havok.  Chrissy Rivera stood toe-to-…  Belly(?) with Greg Excellent in an Ultraviolent Food Fight.  Kimber Lee gave her state of women in the Combat Zone Address.  Meanwhile, the Combat Zone almost saw the most shocking event ever when Christina Von Eerie came within a hair’s length of becoming the CZW World Champion!  Going into year 15, clearly the Bombshells want to take over the Combat Zone!
Dropped Off The List:
(10) – DJ Hyde –
Since Cage of Death 14, Hyde has laid low.  Outside of his recent tour of Japan, Hyde hasn’t really competed.  However, he spoke to the entire Combat Zone from the heart to kick off the 14th Anniversary.  He recognizes the fact the many don’t like him, and well he doesn’t really like most…  But he made it clear that CZW is forever!

Watch Out For:

Joe Gacy – Talk about a man out for blood.  Gacy clearly has a new goal in mind besides winning the CZW World Championship…  He wants to get his revenge on BOTH MASADA and Christina Von Eerie!

Pepper Parks – Pepper Parks and Cherry Bomb are slowly trying to make a “healthier” Combat Zone.  This month, Parks showed that he will do that by ANY MEANS NECESSARY!

Jun Kasai – Jun Kasai now has his opponent for April 5th’s WrestleCon…  And that is MASADA.  If MASADA is still champion come April 5th, Kasai could do the unthinkable and take the CZW World Championship back home to Japan with him!
