The Top 10 of CZW - May, 2013
Monday, June 3, 2013 @ 08:53pm EDT

Each month, the staff at has been ranking the wrestlers of CZW based on their win-loss record, their place on the card, the crowd reaction they receive, any titles won or lost, and other intangible qualities that made that wrestler stick out from the pack.  Since its inception, this list has proved to be controversial; surely it will be very much the same this month.  Please remember, this list is not the official standings controlled by CZW Management.  Without further a due, this is the Top 10 of CZW for May, 2013!

CHAMPION – MASADA – The only man to stop MASADA was…  Himself!  MASADA remains atop the Combat Zone as the World Champion.  But, for how long?  The Ultraviolent Beast was forced to cancel his match with Jake Crist at Proving Grounds due to a freak knee injury at the WSU Queen and King of the Ring.  Now, MASADA enters himself into yet another Tournament of Death in less than one week’s time.  Word has it that MASADA has yet to enter into the required surgery.  Could this injury finally be MASADA’s undoing?

#1 – (1) – AR Fox – After the shocking loss in the finals of Best of the Best, AR Fox came back to get some retribution.  Thanks to help from Strickland and Dreamer, Fox embarrassed the newly crowned Best of the Best Champion.  Things kept getting better as AR Fox became the first man announced to represent CZW in the World Triangle League coming this fall!

#2 – (3) – Sami Callihan – Callihan kept DJ Hyde silent when it came to “the secret.”  But the entire world knew what it was when Callihan left the ring stating “I’m sorry… I love you.”  Last week it was reported that the rumors are true and the Callihan Death Machine will have his last match with CZW THIS SATURDAY at Tournament of Death XII.

#3 – (4) – Alex Colon – Sure Colon is Best of the Best…  But Colon cannot be happy with the way things ended at Proving Grounds.  Time will tell what Colon’s next move will be.

#4 – (5) – Drake Younger – Lucky 13 knew how to get under Younger’s skin at WrestleCon…  But Younger had an ace in his sleeve all along.  Younger welcomed Scotty Vortekz back to the Combat Zone and took this war with the Nation of Intoxication to a whole new level.  What will be the Nation’s play when Younger faces Devon Moore THIS SATURDAY?

#5 – (9) – Jake Crist – Unfortunately for Crist, he lost his World Championship to a freak accident.  However, Crist made it up with his first tour of Japan.  Things are definitely looking good for this member of OI4K.

#6 – (8) – Joe Gacy – Like it or not…  Gacy has been the man who has slowed the momentum of Matt Tremont.  With Gacy no longer in the Tournament of Death, he has taken to social media with threats that he will make a statement at the kick off to the Summer of Ultraviolence.

#7 – (10) – Danny Havoc – Havoc plans on taking home his second Tournament of Death trophy in less than one week’s time.  But the only problem is he may have to go through Scotty Vortekz to do it.

#8 – (2) – Adam Cole – With his long standing feud with Sami Callihan finally over, Cole must start all over again.  Especially in the eyes of the owner of CZW DJ Hyde.  But that shouldn’t be hard for this former CZW Junior Heavyweight Champion.

#9 – (6) – DJ Hyde – After weeks of proclaiming he would reveal Callihan’s secret, Hyde couldn’t come through with that promise.  Now the owner of the Combat Zone makes his return to Tournament of Death action 5 days’ time.

#10 – (-) – Shane Hollister – Hollister may have fell short at Best of the Best XII.  But he made up for it at Proving Grounds.  Hollister is clearly already looking ahead to Best of the Best XIII.

Honorable Mention – (-) Scotty Vortekz – Who would have thought a member of the Nation of Intoxication, who has long since been forgotten would return to take out his former friends…  More importantly…  Help out a man who he battle for nearly six months in Drake Younger.  Nevertheless, the Naptown Dragons are back in full force in the Combat Zone and Vortekz has the opportunity to win his second Tournament of Death.
Dropped Off The List:
(7) – Pepper Parks – For months the Combat Zone had been waiting for Pepper Parks to return to the ring on LIVE iPPV.  But just as things started to go south for the gym rat, he took his ball and went home.  Surely it wasn’t the last we’ve seen of Parks and Cherry Bomb, but we are truly disappointed with his actions.

Watch Out For:
Ultraviolent Athletes – Every year at this time that one of a kind breed emerges once again to claim wrestling’s most sadistic trophy…  This year is no different.  With only five days left, many men will be looking to make their mark in CZW when it kicks off the 2013 Summer of Ultraviolence!
