The Top 10 of CZW - March, 2012
Wednesday, March 21, 2012 @ 05:09pm EDT

Each month, the staff at has been ranking the wrestlers of CZW based on their win-loss record, their place on the card, the crowd reaction they receive, any titles won or lost, and other intangible qualities that made that wrestler stick out from the pack.  Since its inception, this list has proved to be controversial; surely it will be very much the same this month.  Please remember, this list is not the official standings controlled by CZW Management.  Without further a due, this is the Top 10 of CZW for March, 2012.

CHAMPION – MASADA – The Ultraviolent Beast has now taken his throne atop the Combat Zone!  It was seemingly inevitable that MASADA would become CZW World Champion since he hasn’t been pinned in MONTHS.  That fact alone should strike fear into his potential challengers.  And right now it seems that no one can stop the Double Champion.

#1 – (C) – Scotty Vortekz – The dream unfortunately ended for the Naptown Dragon at Aerial Assault.  However, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that Scotty Vortekz was not pinned or made submit to lose the Championship.  Due to that fact, we here at agree that it is only a matter of time that we will see Vortekz in a World Championship match again.

#2 – (2) – Sami Callihan – Drake Younger said it, and most will agree…  Sami Callihan is now the face of the Combat Zone.  However, there is some question as to if he can win “the big one.”  On April 14th, Callihan tries for a third time to claim the Best of the Best trophy.  Can the Junior Heavyweight Champion finally capture the trophy?  Only time will tell, as Drake Younger is right on Callihan’s tail!

#3 – (7) – Drake Younger – The Ultraviolent Golden Boy is on a mission to sit atop the Combat Zone once again.  Thus far, Younger could easily get that done.  Unfortunately a poor referee decision cost Younger the CZW Junior Heavyweight Championship in which he dropped 22 lbs. to qualify for.  But Younger has a chance to erase the mistake on April 14th by winning Best of the Best 11!

#4 – (1) – Devon Moore – As far as the World Title goes, it looks like Devon Moore is out of lifelines.  After claiming the throne just under a year ago, Devon Moore now must start from square one.  No word yet on where the former World Champion plans to take his career, but many believe its only a matter of time before we see the Notorious one back in the thick of the main event scene.

#5 – (4) – DJ Hyde – Apparently money can’t buy you everything…  Despite using and abusing his role as CZW Owner, Hyde failed for the second time in capturing the World Championship.  Hyde better focus on the Bulldozer however, because Hyde may end up being just a footnote in the book of Tremont!  But for now Hyde remains on this list as he tours Big Japan Wrestling and will represent the Combat Zone in Miami on March 29th.

#6 – (6) – Greg Excellent – Excellent for the first time could not defeat Mia Yim.  Normally one should be embarrassed by that…  However, after what was seen at Aerial Assault there is no need for shame.  Unfortunately for Excellent because of that loss he remains at number six for yet another month.

#7 – (10) – AR Fox – Call him “The Whole Foxxin’ Show,” “Superman,” or even “The People’s Choice…”  But after April 14th we could all be calling him Best of the Best!  AR Fox continues to mesmerize the audience with his death-defying aerial offence.  Most recently he introduced the Combat Zone to “Lo Mein Rain.”  It is stunts like that, that could very well bring him the trophy this year!

#8 – (-) – Uhaa Nation – Nation returns to the Top Ten list after becoming one of the last men to qualify for this year’s Best of the Best.  Despite only being in active competition for a very short period of time, the eyes of the world are on this man.  He is considered the top prospect in the sport right now.  Many of his peers consider him the most physically gifted athlete in wrestling today.  And after April 14th he could become Best of the Best champion!

#9 – (-) – Samuray Del Sol –  Much like Uhaa Nation, Samuray Del Sol had the jaded Philadelphia audience on their feet by the end of Aerial Assault.  This masked luchadore has all of the tools to become a Best of the Best Champion on April 14th, and many are betting on him to take home the trophy.

#10 – (-) – Danny Havoc – Havoc makes his way to number ten this month having proving his dominance over the Gulak Campaign for a Better Combat Zone.  Not only did he defeat Gulak Intern, Alexander James, he made sure he sent a message back to the Campaign headquarters!

Honorable Mention – (-) – Jake Crist & Chuck Taylor – Both Crist and Taylor make it to Honorable Mention this month thanks to their performance at Aerial Assault.  Crist, finally laid the law down to his brother while Taylor impressed officials as he gears up for Best of the Best on April 14th.
Dropped Off The List:
(5) – Drew Gulak – After failing to capture the CZW World Championship at the 13th Anniversary event, Drew Gulak decided that it was in his best interest to take the month off.  Due to Gulak lack of competing, he has fallen off the Top Ten list this month.

(8) – BLK Jeez – Unfortunately for BLK Jeez, he decided to help the wrong man in the Combat Zone.  Because of Dave Crist’s brotherly battle, Philly’s Most Wanted failed to break into the Top Ten this month.

(9) – Adam Cole – Adam Cole has officially hit rock bottom.  Cole has yet to pick up a victory in the Combat Zone since losing the CZW Junior Heavyweight Championship.  However, now that he has broken free from DJ Hyde, the sky is the limit for the last Best of the Best Tournament victor!

(HM) – Dave Crist – Just as the Combat Zone thought Dave Crist had his brother’s number. Dave Crist failed to defeat the Wired Champion at Aerial Assault.
Watch Out For:
Alex Colon – Could this be the break out year for BLK OUT’s Alex Colon?  Many believe so.  Colon takes this month off from Tag Team action in hopes of bringing a 4th Best of the Best Trophy to the BLK OUT label.

Matt Tremont – DJ Hyde may have made a BIG mistake.  After Tremont was viciously assaulted by the boss, Hyde then agreed to an Ultraviolent Encounter at Best of the Best 11.  What that exactly means?  No one is sure right now…  But we at agree that no matter what Hyde has planned, the Bulldozer is surely ready!

Mia Yim – Talk about the heart of a champion!  Mia Yim finally slayed the beast Greg Excellent at Aerial Assault in a TLC Match.  After the match, the entire crowd was on their feet praising the Blasian Sensation…  And deservedly so!  Now the CZW Officials are quickly searching for a new opponent for Yim, but I have a feeling not too many women OR MEN are willing to step into the ring with her right now!
