Tale of the Tape: The Super Smash Brothers
Tuesday, August 21, 2012 @ 08:06pm EDT

Last week it was announced that the Super Smash Brothers would be coming to the Combat Zone to compete in a Tag Team Match against Jake Crist and Sami Callihan of OI4K at Down With The Sickness on September 8th.  CZWrestling.com has decided to do some research on this popular team to introduce or for some re-introduce them.

CZW has had its fair share of “interesting” competitors.  But none compare to the Super Smash Brothers.  The duo claims to hail from the Mushroom Kingdom, popularize by the Super Mario Brothers video game franchise.  For those who have seen the men compete before know that they truly are a video game come to life.  With moves that defy science, and even traditional logic, they have won the hearts of many fans around the world.

Although they have had their fair share of fun, these men are truly one of the top tag teams in the sport today.  They regularly compete around the globe winning championships in many of their stops.

Player Uno first arose from the sewer pipes of the Mushroom Kingdom to compete regularly in the Canadian Wrestling scene on January 17, 2004.  It was in Canada where he discovered he was not the only one to leave the 8-Bit World to come to the 3-Dimensional World of Earth.  In September of 2005 Player Dos made his Canadian debut.  It wasn’t long after that, that the two began to team.  From there the two broke into the American scene.  It was in 2007 when Player Dos came to Philadelphia and made a name for himself.  Later that year, Player Uno joined his partner in Philadelphia.  In fact, it was in Philadelphia where Player Dos first became known as such.  It was also in Philadelphia where the duo began to call themselves The Super Smash Brothers.

The careers of the two 8-Bit Luchadors seemingly took off and haven’t stopped going since they made their debuts in Philadelphia.  They now return to the Greater Philadelphia Area to make their mark in the Combat Zone.  But they will have an uphill battle when they face two of the men credited with starting the anarchy in CZW, Jake Crist and Sami Callihan.  But if any team is up for the task, it is the Super Smash Brothers.
