It was announced earlier that Jimmy Jacobs would be coming to the Combat Zone to be one of Sami Callihan and Adam Cole’s “Poison Choices.” Every time someone returns or debuts with CZW, we here at CZWrestling.com like to take some time out to introduce or re-introduce you to the stars of the Combat Zone. So without further a due, this is Jimmy Jacobs.
Although Jacobs is now consider one of the top wrestlers in the game today, he started from humble beginnings. Jacobs first became involved in the wrestling in June, 1998 as a general assistant for Pro Wrestling Worldwide (PWW), a promotion based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jacobs spent nine months performing various tasks, including providing color commentary and acting as the company webmaster. After PWW folded, Jacobs began working for the Lakeshore Wrestling Organization (LsWO), and was made a referee on March 6, 1999. He began training as a wrestler under veteran Joe "El Tejano" Ortega, a former student of Jose Lothario, in Holland, Michigan in March 1999, and wrestled his debut match on May 1, 1999 at the age of FIFTEEN!
Jacobs would compete for various promotions across the Michigan area before finally catching the eye of IWA Mid-South in 2002. In his seven years with the promotion, Jacobs rose through the ranks and obtained the company’s top prize. During that same time, Jacobs would work for the Ring of Honor promotion. In Ring of Honor, Jacobs would be known more as a Tag Team specialist winning the Tag Team Championship on a few occasions with a few different partners. Most recently winning the championship with CZW Alum, Steve Corino.
Jacobs’ career would reach unbelievable heights in 2007 when he appeared on MTV. In a promotion that was supposed to rattle the wrestling world, Wrestling Society X found the right man to rattle the world. Jacobs has been infamous on the independent circuit for years for his controversial nature. Whether it was leading his flock known as the Age of the Fall or more recently with Corino as S.C.U.M., Jacobs always seems to bring a wrestling company to its knees.
Jacobs makes his long awaited return to the Combat Zone on March 9th at Wanted. The question is who will he aid? Those who know Jacobs know that his personality would mesh well with Sami Callihan, but remember Jimmy Jacobs only cares about one person and that is Jimmy Jacobs. With some of the recent revelations in other promotions, Jacobs may benefit with an alliance with Adam Cole. Who knows where Jacobs’ head will be at on March 9th? Whatever may happen on the 9th, it may very well be the next evolution in the career of Jimmy Jacobs.
