Tale of the Tape: Abdullah Kobayashi
Thursday, May 31, 2012 @ 08:14pm EDT

As CZW counts down the days until the 11th annual Tournament of Death, we here at have decided to give you the inside scoop on the nine competitors.  The first man we will look at is someone very familiar with deathmatches…  It is Big Japan Wrestling’s Deathmatch Champion, Abdullah Kobayashi!

Kobayashi took the name Abdullah to honor his trainer, the original deathmatch wrestler Abdullah the Butcher.  Kobayashi began his in ring career in 1995 as one of the main wrestlers in Big Japan Wrestling and has wrestled for BJW throughout most of his career.  He is well known for his very brutal deathmatches with the likes of Ryuji Ito and several other BJW wrestlers.
However it was on June 26, 2010 where Kobayashi came to the home of ultraviolence, CZW.  It was on that day that Kobayashi made his American debut in by competing in Tournament of Death IX.  Kobayashi was the first competitor to come to the Combat Zone as part of CZW’s new working agreement with BJW which still lasts to this day.  CZW Officials worried about how Kobayashi would be received upon his debut in CZW.  But all of their apprehensions vanished when Kobayashi defeated the face of ultraviolence, Nick Gage in the first round.  Despite losing to JC Bailey in the second round, Kobayashi cemented his place amongst the American Deathmatch Wrestlers.
Kobayashi returns to the Combat Zone on June 23rd by popular demand.  This time things will be different.  Kobayashi is surely no obscure Ultraviolent Athlete.  Recently Kobayashi claimed the BJW Deathmatch Championship.  He is now poised to be the first BJW competitor to take home the coveted CZW Tournament of Death Trophy.  However, Kobayashi has a task ahead of him as he will take on the very driven Matt Tremont in the first round of Tournament of Death XI!’s Tale of the Tape:
