Just over a month ago it was announced that January 14th would be the final Combat Zone Wrestling event held at the legendary Asylum Arena. January 14th is TODAY. Whether you are happy or sad to see this building close its doors to professional wrestling, you MUST be there LIVE for this event. Join the Combat Zone as it tears the house down with its LAST main event… Devon Moore will defend the CZW World Championship for the LAST time inside the South Philadelphia wrestling cathedral against the Panama City Playboy, Adam Cole. The founder of CZW, John Zandig, returns to the ring for ONE NIGHT ONLY when he faces the current owner of CZW, DJ Hyde. Sami Callihan defends the Junior Heavyweight Championship against BLK OUT’s Rich Swann. Greg Excellent, who will have full control of the Combat Zone the entire day, will host the Arena’s final intergender match when he faces Mia Yim in a return of their spectacular match from Night of Infamy. All of this and SO MUCH MORE goes down TODAY as part of the Deadly Doubleheader beginning at 2:30 PM from the LEGENDARY Asylum Arena. You won’t want to miss out on the closing moments of the building that changed the wrestling world!
It was just announced via the CZW Newsletter that DJ Hyde is prepared to make a statement regarding the future of the Combat Zone and the Asylum Arena. At this point in time, CZWrestling.com knows no further information other than Hyde will announce if and how the Asylum Arena fits into the future of CZW. This comes after the recent news of changes in store for the legendary Asylum Arena. It was announced earlier this evening via the CZW Newsletter that Drew Gulak has officially accepted the challenge of The Bulldozer Matt Tremont for a match at An Excellent Adventure on January 14th. This all stems from the actions of the Gulak Campaign for a Better Combat Zone at Cage of Death 13.[more]
