In January 2011, an incident occurred at "From Small Beginnings Come Great Things" that made DREW GULAK
the most hated man in all of the Combat Zone. After the blatant
disrespect of a man who hit rock bottom...a man who carried CZW on his
shoulders & bled buckets for this company for over a decade, the CZW
faithful have demanded blood. Along the way, they have relished Gulak's
loss of the Wired TV Championship, showered the ring with streams of
toilet paper, & loudly voiced their loathing of the Campaign for a
Better Combat Zone.
This past Saturday at "Best of the Best XI", a contract signing was to take place for what Gulak deemed a "gentleman's match" between himself and DANNY HAVOC.
As the Campaign watched the entrance to the ringside area, Havoc made
his way through the crowd brandishing a baseball bat wrapped in barbed
wire. With a well placed shot to Gulak's head, Danny Havoc did the one
thing nobody else has managed to do in Gulak's Combat Zone career.
Gulak bled. And like sharks in a feeding frenzy, the CZW fans in the
Flyers Skatezone demanded more. It's been said that when a man sees the
sight of his own blood, it changes him. The change was evident in the
eyes of Gulak. Some have said they saw fear. Some have said they saw the
fires of ultraviolence begin to burn. In a fit of rage, Drew demanded
that Havoc enter the ring and sign the contract after changing the
stakes of the match. Gone were Gulak's "gentleman's rules". When CZW
returns to Philadelphia and iPPV on Saturday night, May 12th, we will
see the match the wrestling world has been waiting for. The CZW fans
have been wanting to exact their pound of flesh for a while and will
live vicariously through Danny Havoc as he takes on Drew Gulak in a NO ROPE BARBED WIRE MATCH!
As much as I've tried to maintain an impartial stance in my duties
writing for the CZW website, I feel the need to reiterate the words I
closed out "A Matter of Respect" with:
Make your peace with whatever god you believe in Drew. Karma is a bitch. You will get yours.
General Admission tickets for "Proving Grounds" are on sale NOW in the CZW Pro Shop. If you can't attend in person, the event will also be streamed LIVE on iPPV at HybridENT.tv
