From the Press Box: Tournament of Death XII Edition
Friday, June 7, 2013 @ 11:00am EDT

Summer is upon us once again. It's a time of year to get out & enjoy the sunshine. It's a time of year to load up the car with your friends & cold beverages. It's a time of year to enjoy the bloodshed that only CZW can offer. It's time to get ready for the Ultraviolent Woodstock of professional wrestling; Tournament of Death XII!  After some changes to this year's tournament, the staff of has taken time out of preparing for the event to weigh in with their predictions on who will take home this year's trophy:

CJ Becker - MASADA - The CZW World Champion has carved a swathe of destruction through the Combat Zone the likes of which nobody has seen in quite some time. From retiring the Ultraviolent Underground Championship to capturing the CZW World Championship to winning 2 Tournament of Deaths in the USA & 1 overseas, the Ultraviolent Beast has been unstoppable. I'm not even sure the leg injury he suffered at the WSU/CZW Queen & King of the Ring tournament in May is enough to prevent MASADA from setting the USA record for most TOD trophy wins. My money's on the champion to take it all for a third year in the row.

JAKE Black - MASADA - If anyone can do the TOD hat trick its MASADA. His current undefeated streak began at TOD X in the first round against Dysfunction, and since then “The Ultraviolent Beast” as been unstoppable. The years of wear and tear have taken their toll on the champion though, MASADA enters TOD XII with a knee injury, but does that even matter? MASADA won TOD XI defeating Drake Younger in the finals against doctor’s orders. MASADA enters TOD XII with the most to lose, and he’s entering the Ultraviolent Underground at a physical disadvantage against a hungry Ron Mathis. Even with these variable not in MASADA's favor, his past TOD performances make him a clear favorite.

Nate Stein - MASADA - I mean, c'mon. He's the CZW World Heavyweight champion. He's already won three Tournaments of Death (2 in the US, 1 overseas). The fact he's in the tournament means that seven other men don't have a chance.

Dan Cowhey - MASADA - It is like a skipping record here.  The man began his “streak” at Tournament of Death X…  He continued it last year.  If you want to count the overseas TOD, that’s three TOD trophies.  Not to mention the fact that the man has NOT been pinned in a black and yellow ring in TWO YEARS.  Could the leg injury do him in?  Maybe…  But then again, he competed against Danny Havoc a few years ago after his leg got HIT BY A CAR!  Remember last year?  He wasn’t even cleared by the doctors to compete in the finals!  I’m not a gambling person, but if I was to put money on a sure winner…  It is the CZW World Champion.

All remaining tickets for Tournament of Death XII will be sold at the venue. If you can't be there live, the event will be broadcast as a delayed iPPV event at  Be sure to "Like" CZW on Facebook and/or Follow CZW on Twitter @combatzone #CZW & #TODXII.
