CZW returns to South Philly!

5/3 - CZW News and Notes: ZANDIG vs. BRAIN DAMAGE, TOD news, Moxley speaks, and more!

The anticipation is building, and building, as the Combat Zone braces itself for the return of JOHN ZANDIG this Saturday night as CZW returns to South Philly for an all-out Ultraviolent "Fist Fight"! As we close in on the final days before judgement day, CZWrestling.com has learned of a few recent developments which will affect this Saturday's lineup, and also June 26th's Tournament of Death...

- Preparations have already begun for June 26th's TOURNAMENT OF DEATH event in Townsend, Delaware. As we close in, CZW management is finally starting to piece together what they are promising will be the most talented, and Ultraviolent TOD lineup of all time. As such, CZWrestling.com has learned that this Saturday's slugfest between ZANDIG and BRAIN DAMAGE will now have a new stipulation on the line. In a phone call this afternoon, Maven Bentley informed CZWrestling.com that the winner of the highly anticipated contest will gain entry into TOURNAMENT OF DEATH 9. Who will come out on top in what will undoubtedly be the hardest hitting contest of the year? And more importantly who will take that momentum into June's Tournament of Death? We will find out this Saturday when CZW returns to South Philly!

- CZW Champion Jon Moxley continues to send directives to Combat Zone management. The newly crowned Champion, who has already promised that he will NOT attend this Saturday's event has responded to Ego Fantastico's recent requests for a World Title shot on June 12th's CZW return to South Philly. Despite his incredible victory over Nick Gage at April's "Swinging for the Fences", Moxley has deemed Ego "unworthy" of such an opportunity, and has ordered that if he is to get in the ring with Ego in June, it will be on his terms. Those terms? According to Moxley, and apparently reluctantly agreed to by CZW officials is that for Ego to earn his title shot in June, he must find... and defeat a former CZW World Champion this Saturday at "Fist Fight". Can Ego find a past Champion and short notice... and beat him? The masked superstar certainly appears to be up against it, but it's no doubt he won't go down without a fight. Can Ego complete the required tasks and get his shot at Moxley in June? We will find out this Saturday at "Fist Fight".

- Scotty Vortekz is still fuming over what happened at April's event,
where his scheduled partner MASADA turned on him, laying a massive beatdown on the fallen Naptown Dragon and joining forces with CULT FICTION. For those who saw the show live, or this past Friday on CZW WIRED (available soon on CZWrestling.com), you know why Vortekz is so angry. As such, Scotty has contacted CZW officials to make it very clear that he will not be responsible for what he does on Saturday to exact his revenge on Masada. What exactly does Vortekz have in mind for Masada? We will find out this Saturday at the CZW Arena!
