Earlier this week it was reported on the CZW Newsletter that DJ Hyde will be in action THIS SATURDAY at Cinco de Mayo from Bloomington, Indiana. The owner of the Combat Zone will be competing against the returning BJ Whitmer.
It was only summer time when DJ Hyde was in a heated battle with Sami Callihan. Amongst all the verbal exchanges between the two, Hyde kept forcing Callihan to face some of wrestling’s top competitors. One of those competitors was BJ Whitmer. Unfortunately for both Whitmer and Hyde, Callihan was able to defeat the grizzled veteran. Despite the loss, Whitmer made sure to leave Callihan hurting. For Whitmer’s efforts, he received a World Championship Match against the then-Champion, Devon Moore at Down With The Sickness. But once again, Whitmer failed to secure a victory. This must have left the boss fuming, as BJ Whitmer was not invited back to the Combat Zone until Super Saturday, where once again Whitmer as on the losing end.
Hyde has seemingly had it out for closest confidants who have failed him. First, Hyde replaced Adam Cole with Tony Nese as his new “project.” Now he faces Whitmer who has embarrassed him in every outing since returning to the Combat Zone late last year. Despite being on the losing end of every exchange since returning to CZW, Whitmer is known to be a big match competitor. If any match has that big match feel, it is this one.
