For that last several months all Ego Fantastico has wanted was a singles match for the CZW World Title with Jon Moxley. Ego even showed weakness in the face of the great Jon Moxley, by taking on a series of handpicked opponents by Moxley. To Ego’s credit he beat everyone Moxley put in front of him, from Nick Berk to Chris Hero. By doing so, Ego earned his title match with Moxley. Unfortunately for Ego, Nick Gage exists.
Just as Ego earned his CZW World Title match with Moxley, Gage stepped foot into the picture. First Gage derailed Ego’s plans of a singles match with Moxley by making it a Three Way Match at “Home Sweet Home” and then this past Saturday at “Southern Violence”, Gage became the CZW World Champion for a 4th time by beating Moxley.
Now what for Ego? The match he’s been shooting for all year, a singles match for the CZW World Title with Moxley is no more. Yes, he will still be facing Moxley one-on-one this Saturday at “Tangled Web III”, but not for the championship. It should still be a helluva battle, but it should also be hell for everyone else all day. I’d be willing to bet Salamander Jones’ job that Ego will do what he always does, and complain to anyone he sees about how things never go his way. It’d be great if Ego took a proactive approach to this situation and did something about it, but I don’t see that happening.
