The Friendship Continues to Deteriorate
Wednesday, May 1, 2013 @ 01:00pm EDT

It is not an uncommon occurrence in professional wrestling for strong friendships to be formed between groups of wrestlers.  At the same time, it’s also not uncommon to see those same friendships fall apart.  It is just sad fact of life for professional wrestlers.  You can blame the loss of a friend to life on the road, to politics, to competition, and number of trials and tribulations that wrestlers have on a daily basis.

One of those friendships that is currently seeing some growing pains, is the friendship between Drake Younger and the Nation of Intoxication.  Younger became particularly close with Danny Havoc during their many tours of Big Japan Wrestling.  Through his friendship with Havoc, Younger would become close with the fellow members of the Nation.  Many would say the friendship between those four men only strengthened as Younger’s driving partners from the Midwest left the Combat Zone.

As quickly as the four seem to bond, the four have quickly grown apart.  As seen from an exclusive video sent in from Big Japan Wrestling, Havoc and Younger had a heated exchange over a mistake Younger made during the Nation’s final Tag Team Championship defense.  Havoc believed that Younger may truly have wanted to strike Havoc over the head with that steel chair.  He felt that Younger’s “Golden Boy” days aren’t over.

For those new to CZW, it was beginning in 2011 when Younger was the first to sign an exclusive contract with CZW he began calling himself the Golden Boy.  As part of this persona, Younger denounced his friendship with longtime friend, Scotty Vortekz.  The two eventually settled the score at Tangled Web 4.

After taking a brief sabbatical from the Combat Zone, Younger came back “clean and serene.”  He was humbled and once again won back the adulation of the CZW fans.  It didn’t take long for Younger to find great success again.  Younger trimmed down and entered into last year’s Best of the Best and even won the CZW Junior Heavyweight Championship.  Younger then moved to California and has been invited to the Golden State’s top promotions where he has seen success.

Is it jealously on the Nation’s behalf?  Or are they seeing Younger’s success go to his head once again?  Whatever the case may be, Lucky 13 surely escalated the issue when he spit beer in the face of the now clean Younger at WrestleCon.  Both sides have spoken and both sides will be under inside the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ on May 11th.  What will happen when all these men are under the same roof?  To find out, visit the CZW Pro Shop now.
