Earlier this week, CZWrestling.com was made aware that Davey Richards would be accepting the open challenge of MASADATHIS SATURDAY at Night of Infamy. The response over this announcement on social media has been great. But we realize that some may not know the name Davey Richards, as shocking as that may be to some. CZWrestling.com has gone out and done some research on the man known as “The American Wolf.”
Richards is a world traveled athlete competing for various promotions. He has primarily competed on the West Coast of the United States, however has seen success in the East as well as in Japan. But amongst his travels he has won World Championship gold. In fact, Richards is a four time World Champion as well as a five time World Tag Team Champion. Richards has won several tournaments that highlight the top performers of the region.
Richards in recent years has been most known for his tag team with fellow standout Eddie Edwards known as The American Wolves. Much of his notoriety came from his work with Edwards. Once that tag team ran its course, Richards quickly made a name for himself without his partner.
Continuing on with his quest to become the most successful competitor in all of professional wrestling he comes to the Combat Zone to challenge the man who is considered unbeatable… MASADA. Although it has been said time and time again, this truly is MASADA’s biggest challenge and quiet possibly somewhat personal. The places where Richards is highly regarded, MASADA is seen as a nobody. Where Richards comes from, MASADA’s style of wrestling is looked down upon. In the grand scheme of things, MASADA hasn’t competed with men the like of Davey Richards. As you will see, Richards is very different from the Ryuji Itos and Necro Butchers of the world. Richards is most definitely the real deal. And it is MASADA’s chance to not only defend his CZW World Championship, but to defend the HONOR of the Combat Zone as the premiere promotion in the entire world!
