Saturday night’s Night of Infamy event was full of challenges.  One of those challenges came from the bitter Greg Excellent.  Following Homicide’s victory over the debuting Yuma, Excellent came out to challenge the Notorious 187.  In the process, Excellent degraded the legendary star make claims that he has lost a step in recent years.  Excellent would demand that he bring back the “Old” Homicide.  Before Excellent left, Homicide gladly accepted the challenge, vowing to bring back the “Old” Homicide.

For just over a year now, the formerly jovial Excellent has become a bitter old veteran lashing out at the Combat Zone audience and stars.  He has demanded respect from CZW Management and Stars, while continually demanding CZW World Championship opportunities.  Despite how many feel about Excellent, he has continued to be a man of his word by defeating some of wrestling’s top stars including Tony Nese and the current #1 Contender Joe Gacy and nearly becoming the CZW World Champion.  Not to mention the fact that Excellent has been dominate at Cage of Death.

With all the experience and victories Excellent has, Homicide doubles if not triples that.  The Notorious 187 has been running through the competition since 1997.  Early in his career, the part of the career Excellent mentioned, is where he made his name.  He competed and defeated the best of the best in the first several years of his career, making him world famous and having promotions with worldwide exposure offer him a contract.  Periodically competing in the Combat Zone, he had some memorable matches with The H8 Club, Roderick Strong, Jack Evans, Messiah, Chris Hero, B-Boy, Alex Shelly, Jimmy Jacobs, and Trent Acid…  Just to name a few.

But its the word “periodically” that set Excellent off.  For the last several months, Excellent’s verbal assaults have been aimed at being overlooked for stars that come in “periodically.”  While Homicide hasn’t spent more than a few months at a time with the Combat Zone, most will agree that CZW is Homicide’s home-away-from-home.

Today, CZW Officials officially signed the bout to take place in less than three weeks time at Cage of Death 18 from the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ.  With the impressive list of competition that the “Old” Homicide competed with, can Excellent continue to make his statement?  Or will Homicide finally silence the bitter veteran once and for all and CZW’s grandest stage?  Find out on December 10th!
